The Summer 2023 anime season is coming to an end, and while there were a few banger series, it’s time to look forward to the next anime season. The line-ups we have for Fall 2023 look amazing! There are a bunch of returning hits such as Spy X Family season 2, Dr Stone:New World Part 2 and Tokyo Revengers season 3. However, there’re also a few new series that have caught my attention, such as the insanely popular Sousou no Frieren, Keikenzumi na Kimi to and Keiken Zero na Ore ga, Otsukiai suru Hanashi and Undead Unluck to name a few. Since there’s so many series that I’m watching, I’m going to give you my top 5 Fall anime series that I’m looking forward to watching the most!

1. Spy X Family Season 2
There’s not much to say about this is there? One of the most popular anime series in 2022 and an insanely popular manga in Japan, Spy X Family is my most anticipated sequel of Fall 2023. I enjoyed season 1 by watching the fun and wacky adventures of Anya, Loid and Yor. For all the entertaining moments in season 1, there’s an aspect that I’m interested in and hoping to see in Spy X Family season 2, and that’s Yor. Will it show more of her hidden past that was left out in season 1? In addition, will her assassin job unintentionally get in the way of Loid’s spy work? Will he find out that Yor’s an assassin? Those are the questions which I hope will be answered in season 2.

2. Hoshikuzu Telepath(Stardust Telepath)
Possibly my most anticipated anime in Fall 2023, Hoshikuzu Telepath has that vibe which reminds me of Koisuru Asteroid and Yuru Camp so much! The main character, Umika, meeting Yuu(who’s an alien,) gives off a slight hint of space as both of them try to build a rocket to send Yuu back to space. In addition, both of them encounter new friends in their quest to create a rocket. I’m curious to find out how the introverted main Umika interacts with her new found friends, and the shared goal of building a rocket with them radiates a sense of camaraderie seen in Yuru Camp. Moreover, the series also has the tag of “Girls Love”, which implies that there’s some yuri in it. I have read a few chapters of the manga and can confirm that there’s yuri in it, although it’s the subtle kind of yuri. This is definitely the type of anime yuri lovers can look forward to, and the outstanding visuals seen in the PV makes this a series worth keeping an eye out for!

3. Hikikomari Kyuuketsuki no Monmon(The Vexations of a Shut-In Vampire)
I have high hopes that this series will not disappoint, as it does look to be a rather funny series as the main character, Komari, tries her best to lead an infamous unit in the military that’s known to revolt against its superiors. Worst thing is, she’s a shut-in who lacks confidence in herself. The PV shows that she’s successful in galvanising her unit, but I’m curious to see how she does it. In addition, there’s a looming threat on her horizon as she appears to be a target of an assassin. How will she, a weak and cowardly vampire, manage to fend off the assassin? Will she unlock some sort of hidden power that will successfully beat her enemy? That’s something that I’m extremely curious to find out.

4. Sousou no Frieren(Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End)
Undoubtedly the most anticipated new series next season, Sousou no Frieren exudes an aura of action and adventure. The story follows Frieren as she begins her adventures after she and her friends defeat the demon king. However, as one by one her friends slowly pass away, she assumes responsibility for a disciple called Fern. Together, they embark on a journey revisiting Frieren’s previous destinations and reminiscing her memories that she and her friends had. It seems like a laid-back adventure for Frieren and Fern, but I think it’s also a heartwarming journey for both of them as they develop a deeper bond with each other as the years go by on their journey. Normally I wouldn’t be watching this type of series as it’s not my cup of tea, but after reading the manga I’m deeply invested in watching it once it premieres.

5. Keikenzumi na Kimi to and Keiken Zero na Ore ga, Otsukiai suru Hanashi(Our Dating Story: The Experienced You and The Inexperienced Me, Kimizero)
If there’s one genre that I must have every season, it’s none other than romance, and I have been captivated by this genre for the best part of 2 years. 2023 has been filled with romance anime, from the popular Otonari no Tenshi to My Happy Marriage, and for Fall 2023, I’ve been drawn to Keikenzumi na Kimi to and Keiken Zero na Ore ga, Otsukiai suru Hanashi. It’s your usual downbeat guy being in a relationship with an attractive and beautiful girl. I can see some similarities between this series and Otonari, except this time there’s a third wheel who suddenly appears and makes things complicated for the couple. I have read the manga version of this series and I like it. It’ll be interesting to see how Ryuuto develops his relationship with Runa, while managing his relationship with Kurose. There will be a lot of twists and turns in the story and I am curious to know how everything will turn out by the end of the series. However, I can give assurances that this will be a very interesting romance series to watch for Fall 2023.

To conclude, I’m pumped up for Fall 2023 as it looks to be another stacked season. There are just so many interesting anime series that’s airing and to be honest, there’s way too many of them that I’ll be watching and interested in for next season. Hence, I’ve come up with just 5 anime series that I’m most excited for, some of which are popular, and some which will fall under the radar. I can’t wait for the Fall 2023 anime season to start!
