Bang Dream! Ave Mujica has finally premiered in the Winter 2025 Season. As a direct sequel to Bang Dream! MyGo, it follows the life and struggles of Togawa Sakiko, who was the leader of the now defunct CRYCHIC band, whom she formed together with her friend Wakaba Mutsumi and the current MyGo band members Nagasaki Soyo, Takamatsu Tomori and Shiina Taki. Following the disbandment, she went on to form her own band Ave Mujica, together with Mutsumi, Misumi Uika, Yahata Umiri and Yuutenji Nyamu.

I’m seriously impressed with Ave Mujica as not only do they sing, they also perform a skit before that. It’s very different from your usual band who only starts to sing after introducing their band members. I find this a refreshing change that allows the audience to see something different. Of course, while I find Ave Mujica’s skits entertaining, the main aspect which I love about Ave Mujica is their songs. They focus on the rock genre and their songs are amazing compared to MyGo’s songs.

In fact, Bang Dream! Ave Mujica doesn’t start with the anime which it’s named after . They in fact get introduced in episode 13 of Bang Dream: MyGo, where Sakiko makes a deal with Uika. This marks the beginning of the Ave Mujica band, and they also had their first concert in the episode. Words cannot describe how much I fell in love with their song in that episode. It had everything – rhythm, good lyrics, incredible instrumentals and an amazing chorus. I’d even place them above MyGo as MyGo’s songs didn’t appeal to me.

Episode 1 already starts off on a strong note as the band performs at a concert and wows the audience with its breathtaking song, KiLLKiSS sung by Uika. The instrumentals were nothing short of phenomenal and it immediately made me fall in love with the song. Ave Mujica is something to be reckoned with!  However, on the personal side of the band, Saki’s relationship with her father has deteriorated to the point where she’s chased out of the house. However, she still had a concert to perform so she tries to shake off her bad situation for the sake of the band.

This is where the episode throws an unforeseen event into the mix as Nyamu unexpectedly takes off her mask on stage and begins unmasking the rest of the band members before Saki is able to stop her. Saki herself also takes off her mask due to Nyamu’s pressure and the audience are stunned as the identities of the band are now revealed. To make matters worse, both Anon and Soyo were in the audience and were shocked by the revelation.

I think the band and MyGo might have some interactions with each other, whether it be good or bad since most of their members know each other and who knows, both bands might even become rivals. I also believe there’ll be more character development for the members of Ave Mujica, especially Sakiko since the anime seems to focus on her as a character. This is most welcomed as I’m dying to have some character development on a few of Ave Mujica’s members, namely Sakiko, Mutsumi and Uika. Buckle up, because we’re in one heck of a ride in Ave Mujica!
